Ministry in Lethbridge with Streets Alive Mission

Streets Alive started in 1989 in Lethbridge, AB by three women: a saleswoman, a summer city employee, and a pastor’s wife, who felt a strong stirring in their hearts to help the people they saw in the parks. It didn’t take these women long to find people sleeping in dumpsters, under
trailers, and on park benches.

Although many people see the homeless as a nuisance and a detriment to society, these women saw them as hurting people, desperate for real love and hope. It was impossible for the women not to see them as God’s creation.

Streets Alive Mission exists to provide for the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the poor, to empower them to change their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Genesis Women’s Life Recovery Program is a multi-tiered program assisting vulnerable women who want to recover their lives. Streets Alive Mission currently operates women’s and men’s housing programs which use the Recovery Road Program, a faith-based abstinence program. The goal is to treat the whole person; physical, emotional and spiritual.

Danielle is one of the women who is currently in the later stages of the program. Her powerful and moving testimony is a testament to the effectiveness of the program and to the miracle working power of Jesus.
