Alex and Vicky Coetzee’s story is one of resilience, calling, and unwavering commitment to the gospel. Originally from Zimbabwe, the couple served as missionaries in Mozambique before relocating to the UK in 2000 due to political and economic turmoil in their homeland. In the UK, they forged strong ministry partnerships with Pastors George and Hazel Hill, Pastor Dave Meyers, and Pastor Morris Watson—connections that would later shape their mission work in Africa. Since 2014, the Coetzee’s have made annual trips to Zambia, and in 2019, they made the bold decision to settle there permanently to support the 12 Victory Church congregations.

Their ministry in Zambia is multifaceted and deeply impactful. Alex has embraced full-time ministry, dedicating himself to evangelism, Bible college training, and overseeing church construction projects. Vicky plays a vital role by teaching at an international school, helping to sustain their mission financially while also contributing to the spiritual and educational growth of the community. Together, they provide leadership, mentorship, and practical support to Victory churches of Zambia, helping them grow in both faith and infrastructure.

Rooted in a divine calling that dates back to 1994, the Coetzee’s vision is to spread the life-giving message of God’s love, faith, and hope across Southern Africa. Their innovative approach includes translating the Jesus Messiah comic into Bemba, making the gospel more accessible to local communities. Beyond traditional church settings, their outreach extends to Muslim and Chinese populations in Zambia, emphasizing the pressing need for missionaries among unreached groups. They also manage donor funds, run children’s programs, and initiate development projects to strengthen the local church body. Empowered by God’s grace, the Coetzee’s continue to serve with humility and passion, bringing light to communities across Zambia and beyond.
